Programs The Burra Club A planned activity group for elderly residents with dementia. We provide an opportunity for adults with dementia to participate in a friendly and stimulating program that promotes the use of existing skills and endeavours to maintain levels of functioning. A range of activities meet the individual needs and interests of each participant and there is opportunity for recreation and social contact in a secured group environment. Held 3 full days per week in the Living Well Community Centre, 329 Dorcas Street, South Melbourne. Contact: Sandy Atherton: ph 9696 4270 The Burra club is supported by funding from the Australian and Victorian Governments under the HACC program Burra 'B FIT' Strength training and gentle exercises for older adults; incorporating helpful topics to enhance health and well being. An important aspect of the 'B FIT' sessions is to have fun and an opportunity for socialization. Art Attack A safe space for community members to express themselves and promote their wellness through art. Facilitated by Rev. Peter Batten, community worker, creative and experiential art therapist and lover of labyrinths. Port Melbourne Uniting Kindergarten Has programs for 4 year old and 3 year old groups, including an integrated early intervention program. The newly refurbished kinder is next to Port Melbourne Uniting Church, 136 Bridge St, Port Melbourne. This is made possible by the generous donation of goods and time by individuals and businesses in our community. Kombiz Youth Network Kombiz Youth Network is a South Port Uniting Care program, formarly a joint initiative between Anglican, Uniting and Catholic churches in the South and Port Melbourne areas to connect young people with their community for social, personal, spiritual, and recreational developement. It does this through a range of recreational and educational programs both within and outside the school environment. What we Do New Programs We are open to developing new programs where there is a need.
