A chair-based fitness program that helps older people increase their physical strength, balance and flexibility to minimise the risk of falls. The program is facilitated by a qualified personal trainer. Each class includes a nutritious meal and the chance to socialise with peers.
A weekly bus trip that invites older members of the community on excursions to various locations in and around Melbourne to enrich their social and cultural life. Participants visit museums and art galleries, enjoy music events and discover national parks, reserves, beaches and so on. A tasty lunch concludes each outing. Participants are picked up and returned home which is a good opportunity for carers to enjoy some respite.
A program for those who want to improve their physical and mental health. Playing table tennis improves reflexes, hand-eye coordination, balance and mental alertness. A great way to stay social, active and have fun.
This program creates a safe environment where older adults make and renew friendships. Participants engage in various activities to hone skills needed for positive social, emotional and physical well-being. Activities include table games, puzzles, craft, music, singing and a nutritious hot meal.
The activity maintains intellectual, social and motor skills through knitting practice. All items created are donated to people in need. Our knitters work on various knitting projects while sharing skills and assisting each other. This program is a great opportunity to socialise with peers as well as to contribute to the community.
