Port Melbourne The Port church community is a multi-aged, diverse group of people who come together to worship, sing, pray and learn more about God's word in today's world. Our worship style is contempory and fairly informal. Everyone is welcome. The Port Melbourne Uniting Church meets every Sunday 9.30am at cnr Bridge and Nott Street Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month and a more relaxed "Adore" worship service is held at 5pm on the first Sunday of each month followed by a light meal. The church is open for prayer and contemplation while walking a labyrinth on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 7-8pm. Children of any age are welcome in our services. We run a program of activities throughout the year which explores themes of Arts and Justice called Aquasanctum. We also hold at least one Art Exhibition in the church each year plus Cafe nights, Anzac Day, Simply Sharing Week, bible studies and other events. Our Simply Living EcoProject, "Inner Urban Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship" started in August 2007. We began exploring our relationship with creation through the "Seasons of Creation" worship and study series and have followed up with a number of actions. We continue to examine our own effects on the environment and to develop a program that engages with our local community so we can all live more sustainably. This project led to the development of the Simply Living Community Garden, built in October 2008. The Reverend David White (mobile no.0421 198 922) and the congregation at Port look forward to meeting you soon.
